63 criminals arrested in search operation
PESHAWAR: The police on Friday detained some 63 suspected persons, including proclaimed offenders during search and strike operation in the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and recovered arms from their possession.
A statement issued by the Police Department said that the police arrested the criminals during search and strike operation in the city.
The operation was carried out on the directives of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Tahir Khan under the supervision of SSP (operations) Peshawar Sajjad Khan to maintain peace in the city.
The statement said the police arrested 63 criminals including four proclaimed offenders and recovered arms from their possession, including one Kalashnikov, four pistols, six magazines, hundred cartridges, 6 kg hashish and 11 bottles of wine.
During the search operation and check points in the city, he said the police also arrested 11 unregistered persons with the police stations living in rented houses. The official said that the first information reports were registered against the arrested criminals.
