Police foils bid to smuggle liquor, arrests accused
PESHAWAR: The Capital City Police on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle liquor in provincial capital, arrested a suspected bootlegger and seized a large quantity of liquor, police sources told The Daily Times.
According to details, high officers of the police department were informed that huge quantity of liquor will be smuggled in provincial metropolis. A police team formed under the supervision of SP City Shahzada Kokab Farooq, led by ASP Gulbahar Najam-ul-Hasnain and Station House Officer (SHO) Sher Malik Khan of police station Phandu.
Police said a vehicle on his way to Peshawar from Mardan. Acting on a tip-off, the Capital City Police intercepted a rocket bus having registration number 5676 on Ring Road. Upon searching the vehicle, the police seized 80 gallons of liquor from secret cavities of the vehicle. The police apprehended an accused named as Najeebullah S/o Habibullah, resident of warsak road into custody. Further interrogation continues from the accused.
