Peshawar Police foils bid to smuggle liquor

PESHAWAR: Capital City Police on Tuesday foiled a smuggling bid and arrested an accused with motorcar for attempting to smuggle huge liquor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Addressing in a press conference at police station Bana Mari, Superintendent of Police (SP) City Shahzada Kokab Farooq said on secret information, police was informed that huge quantity of liquor will be smuggled in a motor car any time at provincial metropolis.
Acting on a tip off, the police formed a team under the supervision of SP City Shahzada Kokab Farooq, led by DSP Superb Fazal-e-Wahid Khan, SHO Mubarak Zeb Khan of police station Bana Mari searched a car having registration no 7077 Peshawar and recovered 144 bottles of liquor.
Talking to the Daily Times, Station House Officer (SHO) Bana Mari Mubarak Zeb Khan said action was taken during blockade at Kotla Mohsin Khan where 144 bottles of liquor were recovered from secret places of the car having registration number 7077 and apprehended accused identified as Muhammad Asif S/o Younas resident of Akram Abad Miskeen Abad.
During initially interrogation, police also raid on accused house and recovered 10 bottles of liquor, 2 pistols and one repeater with cartridges. Further investigation continued from the accused. Mubarak Zeb added.
